About
Macao International Technology Industry Centre

Background:
In line with the country’s commitment to supporting the scientific and technological innovation and fostering appropriately diversified economic development in Macao, the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) has been actively advancing the development of scientific and technological innovation, which includes the planning and construction of the Macao Sci-Tech Park. Before the completion and operation of the Industrial Park, the Macao International Technology Innovation Center served as a pioneering institution. By making optimal use of existing resources, it aims to attract technology enterprises and projects in fields such as biomedicine, integrated circuits, digital technology, and aerospace technology, functioning as a testing ground for industrial development and policy implementation.

Center Overview:
The Macao International Technology Industry Centre is established by the Economic and Technological Development Bureau and the Science and Technology Development Fund, and is operated by the Macao Institute of Industrial Technology. The Centre aims to achieve national strategic goals, integrating into the international technology and innovation development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It serves as a proving ground for the Sci-Tech Park and policy experimentation. Focusing on four major industries—biomedicine, integrated circuits, digital technology, and aerospace technology—the Centre acts as a gateway for premier Mainland technology enterprises to expand globally, while providing landing support for overseas projects in Macao.

To comprehensively empower enterprise growth, the Centre has established four major service platforms: Technology Industry Application, Innovation Talent Service, Offshore Innovation Service, and Technology Industry Development. Through these platforms, the Centre aims to attract Mainland and overseas high-tech enterprises, high-end talents, and venture capital to Macao, fostering the extension and upgrading of the technology value chain. By building a complete “Research–Incubation–Transformation–Service” ecosystem, the Centre drives synergistic development between the innovation platforms of Macao, the Greater Bay Area, and Portuguese-speaking regions, ushering in a new phase of development for Macao’s R&D sector and promoting the appropriate diversification of Macao’s economy.

Upholding the Development Philosophy of “Internationalization, Industrialization, and Synergistic Collaboration”

Internationalization:Fully leverage Macao’s hub advantages as a free port where Chinese and Western cultures converge, creating a two-way open window that connects China with global technological resources.

Internationalization:Focus on emerging technology fields and build a complete ecosystem spanning from R&D and incubation to commercialization, injecting real-economy momentum into Macao’s economic diversification.

Synergistic Collaboration:Deepen the industrial synergy between Macao and Hengqin alongside industry-academia-research cooperation, forming an interconnected internal and external innovation force to help mainland enterprises expand overseas smoothly via the Macao platform.

Mission: Building a “One-Stop” Interconnected Internal and External Tech Hub

An Overseas Launchpad for Mainland Enterprises:Leverage Macao’s advantages as a free port to help high-quality tech enterprises from the mainland expand into Portuguese-speaking countries and broader international markets.

A Landing Hub for Overseas Projects:Provide a one-stop service for international advanced technologies entering the Chinese market, offering buffering, adaptation, and compliance support.

An Industry-Academic-Research Transformation Base:Rely on the State Key Laboratories of Macao’s universities to accelerate the commercialization of scientific research achievements from the lab to the market.
